I’m not a writer. Is it okay for me to participate? To try?
This is first a women’s circle. Second, a chakra journey. Third, a writing container.
Actually, the order probably differs among women, but what is the same, no matter where you are on the writing journey–just beginning, reclaiming, or professional–is our shared vulnerability.
I am a real writer. How can I benefit?
Vulnerability is a fertile field, particularly when shared among women, within the strong container of the chakras.
‘Writers” and “others” alike benefit from taking a pressing issue, an intention, the kernel of an idea–from the 1st chakra to the 7th chakra–roots to unfolding–in a supportive circle of women–reflecting back in their own chorus of voices.
My life is really full. I don’t know if I can add another thing.
We ALL share this one. See vulnerability above. See chakra container above. Then look within. Are you being beckoned to set aside time for your voice? Then perhaps this quote rings true for you: “What matters is how quickly you do what your soul directs.” Rumi
Alas, following the soul’s directive doesn’t necessarily indicate that the journey will be without struggle. Each of us will be demanded of in some way. Our job is to show up. For ourselves. Knowing that we will be supported and accepted along the way.
I don’t know much about the chakras. Is that okay?
Actually, you don’t need to know a thing about the chakras. What they provide for me, as the facilitator, is a template–for inviting your voice into the light.
What does online flexible participation mean?
It means that there is no scheduled time that you have to appear online with the group.
That said, you are asked to set aside time each week to meet the invitation of responding, posting and commenting.
Within that expectation comes your day-to-day life and the decisions you make about when and how much and what to let go. In addition to facilitating the journey, I am also a participant in the group. What I notice is that my own writing/responding to the chakra prompt can take anywhere from an hour to a handful, depending on how it comes; while the reading and (light) responding to others work takes another hour.
Is it safe? Who will see my writing?
See shared vulnerability above.
The first thing we agree on as a group is confidentiality.
More questions? Don’t hesitate to ask–within the comment field below or privately to Kelly. I want this to be the right fit for you.
